What types of demo production do you offer?

What is a Custom/Targeted Demo?
Sometimes clients want reels targeted toward a very specific project or genre, such as a Villain Reel or a Horror Reel. So, rather than producing a Character Reel that showcases a broad range of categories, we focus on a particular topic or genre. These are some of my favorite reels to make.
Most clients choose the Standard package, and their experience goes something like this:
What if I’m nervous or inexperienced?
Totally normal! Part of my job is to guide you through every step and help get you to your best performance.
What happens if I don't like my demo?
It’s important to me that every demo is done right the first time. That’s why I stay involved with you at every step of the process, from consultation to script approval to final delivery. This approach helps us catch issues early, long before they become problems, so the demo you end up with is one you’re genuinely proud of.
The entire process is designed to spot concerns early and fix them before we hit the finish line. Not vibing with my style? That’s okay! You’ll usually know that during the consultation. Think a script doesn’t sound right? No problem! We’ll address that through script approval.
But to fully answer the question: a demo is a lot like a tattoo. I’ll work with you to design it the way you want, but once the final demo is delivered, it’s considered a completed service. That’s why I encourage you to listen to my sample demos, just like you’d check a tattoo artist’s portfolio, so you can be sure my style aligns with what you’re looking for before we begin.
If you’re thinking, “I like what I’m hearing, but I’m not totally sure,” reach out. I’d be happy to talk it through. I genuinely want what’s best for your career. If that means working with me, fantastic! If it means choosing someone else, that’s absolutely fine, too. My goal is for you to get the demo that will serve you best.
How much are you getting paid by the hour?
Every demo project is different, and each one comes with its own unique challenges. Because of this, the number of hours required can vary, which is why I charge per demo rather than by the hour. To give you a clearer picture of where the time and cost come from, here’s what goes into creating a professional demo from start to finish:
Long-term investment in expertise:
Training: Thousands of hours honing performance, production, and engineering skills
Marketing knowledge: Thousands of hours learning how demos are evaluated and what gets actors booked
Time set aside for your specific project:
Consultation: ~4 hours
Scriptwriting: ~8 hours
Studio recording: ~4 hours
Post-production editing: ~8 hours
Mixing & mastering: ~8 hours
If you total the active hours alone (not including the thousands invested in training and industry knowledge), my Standard Package averages out to about $15.63 per hour. And even that doesn’t include business expenses like studio space, hardware, software, or travel.
My goal is to be transparent about the work and expertise that go into your demo so you understand exactly what you’re investing in. If you still have questions or concerns about value, I always encourage you to compare my pricing with other demo producers. I want you to choose the option that feels right for your career.
Do you offer payment plans?
I do. Some clients prefer to pay over the course of several weeks or months, however, to protect everyone involved and to prevent misunderstandings, I only begin work for a client once the full payment amount has been received.
Have your demos ever gotten someone noticed?
While I can never guarantee that you'll get discovered, my demos have gotten people into auditions that I don't believe they would have gotten without a high quality demo. Including projects for both commercial and character work from major names in their industries.
Can I bring my own copy?
Of course. I want to help you make the demo that is right for you. The only thing that you can't do is use material that is currently under copyright or trademark.
I need my demo fast. Do you offer rush orders?
Yes. I understand that occasionally you want your demo right away, and you may not be able to wait. Believe me, I've been there. Typically, the entire process takes a couple of months. There are things that you can do to make the process move more quickly. If you chose the Standard Package, then you can pick out a dozen or so songs before we even record. I often have to wait on music in order to move forward in the process, and I place clients in a queue based on when I receive materials. This means that if you have your music ready whenever you record, you will be placed immediately into the queue, and your demo will be finished more quickly. There is also the option of paying a rush fee. The way that works is, for an additional fee, I will automatically place you at the beginning of the queue for each step in the process. I can't ever promise that it will be this quick, but for people that have paid the rush fee and had their music ready, I have had them record and receive their demo within 24 hours.
Who owns the demo after it's completed?
You receive full rights to use the final demo for non-commercial marketing purposes, such as submitting to agents, casting sites, and social media.
Source materials (such as raw project files, like scripts) remain property of the producer unless otherwise negotiated.
